An intriguing initiative by #ODESA that really sharpened our entrepreneurial abilities.

This time, the topic of the project was Young Entrepreneurs that took place in Costinesti, Romania.

An intriguing initiative by #ODESA that really sharpened our entrepreneurial abilities. With the valuable tips of Martin Perez Rubio I improved my public speaking and presentation skills resulting in expressing our business idea successfully.

Had conversations and exchanged ideas with multiple bright individuals about relative topics that really enabled me to obtain a fresh perspective on my future endeavours through continuous intercultural and advanced dialogues.

Definitely, a must for everyone to participate.

This ERASMUS+ project is possibly the best project I've been to..

Presenters: Savin Angel-Mario
Location: Liceul Tehnologic "Pamfil Seicaru"
Place: Ciorogarla, Romania
Time: 40min
Date: 13.12.2022
Guests: 40 people

My presentation: here
I recently went on a youth exchange in Costinesti, Romania. This youth exchange was about young entrepreneurship. It helped us manage our emotions, build a business and work together in a team. This ERASMUS+ project is possibly the best project I've been to.

In this youth exchange there were 5 countries. Greece, Spain, Turkey, Italy and Romania. We were the host country. This project lasted 10 beautiful days where we were together for the same goal. To learn about entrepreneurship and team building.

About Paquet, the fictional company

Paquet, one of my projects, won the contest as the best company. Paquet was the product and Paquet LLC was the fictional company.

I was helped by Lara, Gabriela, Aleyna, Sultan and Stefanos. Our team was composed of spanish, romanian, turkish and greek team members.
Our presentations

We kept our presentation simple and product focused. No fuss about how the entire company works. People are focused on the product, not the company.
That's why our presentations were just 2 minutes long and talked about everything that needed to be said.

Our business plans

Our business was very thorough so the reader could understand as much as possible about Paquet, the company, and Paquet, the product.
About the contest

In the contest there were some very interesting and potentially successful. One of the entries were Food Match. An app that connects the consumer and individual sellers. This entry had the best presentation and, to be honest, the most potential.

Another interesting entry was Tradeed. An app that lets you trade skills. You learn about something by teaching something else. In my opinion it had the greatest marketing, with merch, commercials and others.

A great entry was also Cutie. "Cutie" is the romanian word for box. A very good word play. This entry was about delivering ingredients for making cocktails and other drinks at home. This entry had simply the best moto. "Mix up your nights" impressed everyone since it was simple, creative and overall the coolest.

Mercurius was a cool concept but flawed. It was targeted at teaching middle eastern countries english. The main consumers were people who already knew english, but wanted

Lions by day, lions by night

Days were filled with tasks and games and nights were filled with dance and music. We all managed to party as hard as we worked. I thought that was amazing. To see someone who was a party animal last night, make a very serious business presentation is quite amazing.

Cultural nights

The cultural nights were one of the best. From Spain to Italy, from Turkey to Greece, all nights were filled with great parties and presentations about culture, language and traditions.

We learned so much about each others countries and we realised how different we were yet so similar. Personally, the turkish culture night was my favourite, as we found out about traditional food, cool facts, insights into the country's past and future and so much more. Turkey always had a special place in my heart either way. Oh, by the way, it seems it's Turkiye and not Turkey anymore.

The romanian culture night was hosted on the 1st of December as it was our national day. This cultural night took place in 2 different places and had multiple shows. We had lots of food, drinks and dances. Overall the biggest cultural night.

Secret Garden Talks

In the hotel there was a secret garden, an area where we could sit down and talk. In every talk I would put some ambient music to relax everybody after working on their tasks and companies. I made a playlist of all the songs that I played in the background.

More

This youth exchange was not just about making a business. This project helped us work in a team, control our emotions, understand certain concepts about entrepreneurship, volunteering and more.

In this project I learned how to be a better leader. I learned how distribute the work to everybody equally and also by their knowledge and skills.

I also learned more on the emotional side of things. I have learned that people come and go. But experiences, and the changes that they make in you stays. The departure and the last goodbyes were pretty rough emotionally.

I also aknowledged my obsession to always take responsability in everything. Now I am trying to slowly let this obsession go. If keep taking responsability in everything I am going to burn myself out.

On the more personal side of things, I learned that it's ok to take time to think about everything that happens around you. Sometimes you need some time to process the things that are happening around you. If you don't you are going to be left out confused and emotionally unstable.

I want to thank all the participants in this project that helped me grow more as a person. And also, I want to thank ODES Association for making this project possible.

Learning, innovation and coaching in education

In the "Learning, innovation and coaching in education" master's course, in the "Interactive strategies. Cooperative learning" course, I presented the "Mission Impossible" activity done in the "Young Entrepreneurs" project

The course was held on December 7, 2022, on the ZOOM online platform. 25 students and professor Catalina Ulrich Hygum were present.

The "Mission Impossible" activity was presented as a non-formal education method used in the project. We developed the methodology with examples from the project and photos from the activity. I described the context of using the method through a brief presentation of the "Young Entrepreneurs" project

The colleagues were very perceptive to the presented method and interested in the ERASMUS+ branded youth projects. We received questions related to the project and about the importance of the method used for group dynamics.

I descirbed my experience

So, I invited my friends to present my experience in the erasmus+ project Youth entrepreneurs.

It took place in 7/12/2022 at Thessaloniki, Greece, at my house.

Except from me (Dimitrios Espialidis), 5 people where present.

The presentation lasted 45 mins.

Most of the time was spent explaining what is an Erasmus youth exchange, which are its main values and how it works. Next, I descirbed my experience during the program and all the things I gained.

Last but not least, I recreated the final presentation of the fictional company I helped create and answered questions.

Italian Intercultural Evening

The last, but not the least intercultural evening, the italian team had their cultural night, which was very interesting.

They created a map with the cities where they live, and brought some of their traditional food and drinks.

Also, they prepared a kahoot and taught us some traditional dances. It was really fun:)

Business Talks! (presentations)

Our eighth day in this project could be summarized in 3 words: work, work, work.

We worked, we cooperated, and we developed our business ideas to their fullest.

By the end, we all were ready for the final presentations.

In the first 2 sessions, the participants divided by companies completed the business plans that included all the elements presented, developed and debated in the previous days. All teams had until 3:00 p.m. to send the final form of the presentations and to be ready to start the presentations at 4:00 p.m.
The whole group decided that the presentation should last 3 minutes, the presentation video should have a maximum of 1 minute.

In session 3, the participants divided by companies presented the business plans developed for their own company. All business plan presentations were made by technological methods using different applications: PPT, Canva.

Paquet - Embrace the better; the web application platform for the phone
Cutie - Mix up your night; party products
Food Match - Fresh, Heathy, Easy; the online platform that connects food producers directly with customers, without intermediaries
Mercurius - Don't just act. THINK; online application that helps you learn English with the support of a person qualified to teach English. Interactive methods
Tradeed - Grow together - company that connects people who have the same interests to facilitate communication and even mobility in the world.

All the presentations were supported by a video promoting the company (click here).
The team members chose the way to present: each member presented or a single person.

At the end of the presentations, all participants voted:
Best video: Cutie
Best Logo: Cutie
Best Motto: Mercurius
Best presentation: Food Match
Most Innovative Business: Food Match
Best Business: Paquet

Romanian Intercultural Evening

Romanian culture night was special.

The food was delicious, the music was captivating, and the dances were exciting.

We got to learn more about not just Romania, but being a Romanian as well.

The night didn’t end with the presentations however, we kept on partying late into the night and had arguably the best times in this project.

Our study visit in Constanta

We woke up, ate breakfast and headed straight to the bus.

We arrived to Constanta after 40 minutes!

Moody atmosphere, cold weather, but full of excitement. As it was the national day of Romania, we had the chance to enjoy the local parade but to also complete our tasks simultaneously.
Honor, sense of pride, values of ancestor that were passed down. This is what it means to be Romanian according to the answers we got from the locals as it was part of one of our tasks. Exploring the city divided into teams, had fun and ate the local cusine.

We found out that Constanta was named Tomis during Ovidiu's time. We also visited 5togo, one of the largest cafe chains in Romania.
- The name of the city in the past was Tomis and a fact about the city is that the population is around 300.000 people.
- Successful shipping companies: SOCEP, JSP and Maersk. The area has also wineries.
- The locals told us that the city offers too many opportunities and they were born and want to live in the same city.

Overall a pretty good way to comprehend the city.

We taught one another. We learned from one another. We formed bonds, lasting friendships. We grew as people.

A warm message from Mert Coșkun, one of the Turkish team member who have attended to "Young Entrepreneurs!" Youth Exchange: At fir...
